You have a "pile" of old Mechanical Desktop files and would like to open them in Inventor and reuse them as much as possible, but you don't see MDT on the install options of your version of Inventor.
Solution:
To open MDT files in Inventor 2010 or later you need to have MDT on your computer. You can download MDT 2009 (the last version released before it was discontinued) from the link listed below, and use it to edit and convert MDT files as needed.
